Using Probability to Make Predictions

• In the classroom, the teacher asked what everyone's favorite color is. 2 students picked green, 8 students picked yellow, 12 students picked blue, and another 8 picked red. Using this data, predict how many kids would pick blue if we asked an entire school of 900 kids?

• 1st: What is P(blue)?

• 2nd: 40% of 900 = (0.40) x 900 = 360 students
