it has the essence of the other four vedas. it belived that
*word called pathya taken from rigveda
*abhinaya called gesture taken from yajurveda
*music and chant taken from sama veda
*rasa called (sentiment and emotional element) from Atharvana veda

• Ater creating natya veda Lord brahma gave the same to the sage bharatha and asked him to popularized this veda on earth.

• following the words of lord brahma sage bharata wrote Natyastra or science of dramaturgy, a great comprehensive work on the science and technique of indian drama, dance and music.
