Question formation

  • We invert the subject and the auxilary/modal verb in questions with teneses and modal verbs.

  • We use negative questions to show surprise.

  • If a verb is followed by a preposition it goes at the end of the question.

  • When who/what/which is the subject of the question we don't use de auxiliary.

8

Indirect questions

  • We use indirect questions to ask questions in a more polite way.

  • Can/Could you tell me....? Do you know..? Would you mind telling me...?

9

Auxilary verbs

  • We use auxilary verbs or modals to avoid repeating the man verb or verb phrase.

  • We use so and neither to say that some or something is the same.
