Poor children

  • Poor children had very few toys to play ,so most of their toys were hand made and children would share toys such as marbles, hoops, skipping ropes and dolls

  • Children also made up game to play in larger groups like "tag" or "catch".

  • They also made balls from bundles of rags and bats from pieces of wood.

  • Children were also able to safely play in the streets

Rich children

  • Rich children had expensive toys such as rocking horses, animal arks and doll houses.

  • Rich children had a special person to look after them known as a nanny.

  • They also had their special rooms known as nurseries where they ate, played and slept.
