  • Simple Present - expresses something we see as permanent or unchanging - facts, habits, routines

  • Example --> He eats a lot of junk food. / I call my mom everyday.

  • Present Continuous (Progressive) expresses:

    1. something happening at the time of speaking

    2. A temporary or currently changing situation

    3. Something happening around the time of speaking

  • Present Perfect expresses:

    1. when a past even has an impact on, or relevance in, the present

    2. when something started in the past and continues to the present

Present Tense Examples:

  • Present Continuous: "to be + verb-ing"

  • --> I am going to the mall right now. / They are waiting for the bus.

  • Present Perfect: have/has + past participle

  • --> She has seen that movie before. / I have lived here for five years.
