Helping Verbs

Most irregular verbs change spelling when they are used with helping verbs. Often the new spelling uses an n or en to show past tense.

Examples

• Mr. Hamilton has taken several trips to the zoo. [helping verb] [irregular verb]

• Gordon has given his video game to Robin. [helping verb] [irregular verb]
