discovered a small opening in the back of the kitchen. The opening was probably big enough for a small rodent to fit through.

believed the school might be infested with rodents and called pest control to investigate the matter.

always asked for seconds after lunch. The lunch lady rarely gave him seconds. This made Chris bitter towards the lunch lady.

was once dared to sneak into the kitchen and steal muffins for him and his friends. 

During the lunchroom bandit

investigation, the principal asked Jessica, “who do you think has been sneaking into the kitchen?” To which Jessica replied, “Chris!” Without hesitation.

told pest control to set-up mouse traps in and around the kitchen area. After a few weeks, the traps didn’t catch anything.

was heard bragging about how many muffins he could eat at one time.

One night,

Mr. John left food scraps outside to try and catch the rodent they believed was sneaking into the kitchen at night. The next morning, the scraps were still there and had not been eaten.

held the school record for eating the most muffins at one time. 

After thorough investigation,

pest control stated that the only thing they discovered were tiny mouse droppings. 

There is a 2 muffin limit for each student.  

Usually, nobody gets away with taking more, unless other students give away their muffins.

The chocolate muffins were like a prized possession around school.

Comparable to gold, every student loved the delicious

chocolatey flavor.

was giving a reward to any students with information about the missing muffins. Jessica was the first in line. 

Mr. John

stated that he saw Jessica leaving the kitchen around 7:55 a.m. Right before the Mrs. Shannon came in for work.

To everyone's suprise...

Jessica had been the muffin bandit! She loved the tasty muffins and wanted more than the 2 muffin limit. She knew the kitchen very well and knew exactly where the muffins were kept. Jessica arrived before the lunch lady and would rush to grab as many muffins as she could. In the process of rushing, Jessica would leave the kitchen a mess so she could get out before the lunch lady arrived. She blamed the event on others, because she knew that people would believe her. She had a good reputation, but not anymore. She’ll be paying for every one of those chocolate muffins! Great job super sleuths, you solved another mystery!
