When America was discovered...

Carrying Capacity

• Populations always will increase in size.

• People entering - People leaving = Your Population

• Emigrate = Leave; Immigrate = to to Enter

Rate of Growth

• Depends on:

• Number of children, adults, and elderly present.

• But also, how many resources are available.

• The more children AND Adults, the more rapid a population grows.

Carrying Capacity Concerns

• We all require resources to live...

• The lesser a population density is, the more abundant the resources are.

• Which allows a population to grow!

What can we do?

• Keep population growth at or below carrying capacity... :/

• Invent alternate resources or other technology.

• Which CAN expand carrying capacity!
