Water is a basic element of life.

Water:

• Water resource is the source or supply of water which man can benefit from.

• however, as the population in the world increases, the need for water increase too.

Desalination:

• It is the removal of salt from sea water.

• Such as KSA.

Fresh water is an important element for:

• Agriculture.

• Industry.

• Household.

• Environment.

Water resources are being reduced rapidly due to:

• Increase in population: as the population increase the need for fresh water increase too, and water problems start emerging.

• Climate change: rising temperature on Earth increase evaporation and lead to greater loss of water.

• Depletion of aquifers: people tend to fight over water and start using pumps to extract water from aquifers.

• Aquifers: are natural reservoirs of underground water such as rocks and sand.
