Conjug. of -ER/-IR verbs, regular, present tense

To conjugate (change) -ER and -IR verbs, follow the same steps we learned when conjugating -AR verbs...

​

Steps:

• Take off the ending (-ER or -IR)

• To the stem add the new ending

• -ER verb endings (yo - o; tú - es; Ud./él/ella - e; nosotros - emos; Uds/ellos/ellas - en

• -IR verb endings (yo - o; tú - es; Ud./él/ella - e; nosotros - imos; Uds/ellos/ellas - en

NOTE: The endings for -ER and -IR verbs are the same except for the nosotros and vosotros forms (we will not be working with the vosotros form).

-ER verbs use -emos for the nosotros ending, while -IR verbs use -imos for the nostros ending.

EXCEPTION: The verb, ver (to see), is conjugated "veo" in the yo form

(NOT VO).
