Tenses

1. Tenses show you something happens, happened, has happened, is happening or will happen.

2. To show different tenses, we have to change the verbs in a sentence.

Tenses- Basic

• Present Tense 表示现在的时间

• Past Tense 表示过去的时间

• Future Tense 表示未来的时间

Present Tense

• Simple Present Tense - 一个人(动词加 "s"), 两个或以上（动词不用加"s"), 用 am, is, are, has, have

• Present Continuous Tense - 动词加"ing"，表示正在，在前面一定要有 is or are

• Present Perfect Tense - 动词加"ed" 或者变字, 表示过去已经做过，前面一定要有 has or have

• Present Perfect Continuous Tense - 动词加“ing”, 前面一定有 has been or have been. 表示从以前到现在都在做的事情

Present Tense

• Simple Present Tense: Ali walks to school. Ali and I walk to school.

• Present Continuous Tense: I am eating. He is eating. They are eating.

• Present Perfect Tense: He has eaten breakfast. They have prepared the plan. I have won this trophy since I'm 4 years old.

• Present Perfect Continuous Tense: She has been talking about the movie from just now. We have been looking for you since 2pm.

Past Tense

• Simple Past Tense - 动词加"ed", 变字或者没有改变， 表示发生在过去的事情，用 was, were 和 had

• Past Continuous Tense - 动词加"ing"，表示前一段时间你所进行的动作，在前面一定要有 was or were

• Past Perfect Tense - 动词加"ed" 或者变字, 表示过去有次序的动作，前面一定要有 had

• Past Perfect Continuous Tense - 动词加“ing”, 前面一定有 had been 表示当有某个事情发生时，所做的事情

• Simple Past Tense: I stopped at the cafe yesterday. She ate McDonald for her breakfast this morning. He read the book just now.

• Past Continuous Tense: He was thinking of finishing his homework. They were enjoying themselves at the zoo.

• Past Perfect Tense: Sheryl was happy as she had scored 7As in the UPSR. Ali was scolded by his mother because he had not finished his homework.

• Past Perfect Continuous Tense: He had been enjoying his breakfast until he bit on a staple in his food.
