One of my favorite childhood memories was the annual vacation to Sunset Beach, NC where we stayed in a beach house on a little island.

One of my most memorable moments in my childhood was going to watch Star Wars when it came out with my cousins. I was staying with my Grandmother for the summer and my favorite Aunt took us to see Star Wars. It was such an amazing experience. There were a bunch of bamboo trees by my Grandmother’s house and we made them into pretend lightsabers. It was a good summer.

A note about the town I grew up in. The town is named after a local Native American tribe, as are most things in that area. The major local employer was also named after the Native American tribe was sadly delisted from the NYSE in 2004. At the time of it’s delisting it was the longest listed company on the NYSE.

Fondest childhood memory was a vacation to Lake Lure, North Carolina. We stayed in the Lake Lure Inn in which each room had at least one celebrity stay at one time. It was also the location where the movie Dirty Dancing and parts of Last of the Mohicans was filmed at Chimney Rock Park so we got to see all the film sites.

My Grandma and Grandpa were farmers and lived down the road just ¼ mile from us. They owned the home that I grew up in and farmed land all around us. One of my childhood memories was sitting in the back of their black Ford pickup truck – which was parked next to one of their fields - while Grandpa was plowing the soil, planting crops, or harvesting, and we would have our favorite lunch together: Fried egg sandwiches on white bread, green onions, potato chips, and “field” coffee (my Grandma’s specialty).

Grew up outside of Ft. Worth, TX on a horse ranch with my grandparents where we trained cutting horses for the King Ranch. One of my fondest memories is I was working for a baseball school at 13 and got to catch Nolan Ryan and his Son.

I was almost 4 when my parents brough home a little boy. When they laid him in the crib I gave my little brother my most prized possession and laid it in the crib with him. It was my Teddy Bear! That is the earliest memory of my childhood.

Played baseball almost 9 months a year. In little league I played on the travelling All-Stars and went to a tournament in Ottawa, Canada. I was the fastest kid on the team, so I hit lead-off. To start the tournament, I hit a homerun over the fence. However, I had never hit a homerun, so I didn’t think anything of it when I made contact. I put my head down and ran hard to first with the idea of rounding hard to try to stretch the hit to extra bases. I was shocked to see the first base umpire give the homerun signal. I think everyone was shocked! It was a great game overall as we ended up as a team hitting 3 homeruns and I was on base for the other two. We ended up winning the game 10-0. My grandfather was at that game while my Dad and Uncle were coming up for the tournament and missed my only outside the park homerun in my amateur career.
