An adverb is a word that modifies a verb, an adjective or another adverb.
Typically, an adverb will tell us more about the manner, time, place, or degree
of something, answering questions such as how , when, or where.
Example:
Mr. Cruz clearly explained the direction of the test to the
pupils.(manner)

1. Adverb of Manner - tells how an action is done. It modifies verbs. It answers the question "How."
The suffix -ly is added to the end of adjective to form an adverb.
However, not all adverbs of manner end with -ly. These are the
following examples: well, fast, hard, and straight. Most of
these can be also used as adjective.
Example: He reads fast(adverb)
He is a fast reader(adjective)

2. Adverb of Time - tells when the action is done
It answers the question "When."
Examples:
1. Her classmate visited her yesterday
2. I will see you next week.
3. Later, the film will be shown.
4. The new normal life will be back soon.

3. Adverb of Frequency - tells how often an action is done. It answers the question "How often."
1. I usually get up late on Saturdays.
2. We seldom see our cousins
My mother always reminds me about my homework.
Mr. Cruz is never late for work.

4. Adverb of Place - tells where the action has taken place. An adverb of place answers the question where or in which direction.
Example: Most birds fly northward when the farmers set a scarecrow.
The delegates went upstairs.
“Please move backward,” said the battalion commander.

5. Adverb of Intensity/Degree - tells how much or to what extent the quality exists.
Examples:
The visitors were almost done eating dinner. (modifies verb)
Ben liked the cake because it was absolutely delicious. (modifies adjective)
He ate the lechon was quite slowly to enjoy the flavor. (modifies adverb)
