PRESENT SIMPLE

The present tense is the base form of the verb:

work in London. 

But with the third person singular (she/he/it), we add an –s:

She works in London.

It is used to talk about general truth, habits, facts and repeated actions.

  • The most common verbs used in the present simple are: verb To be (ser/estar) and verb To have (tener), be careful because these verbs have a irregular form in the third singular person.

  • Correct conjugation verb TO BE: I am, You are, He/she/it is, We are, You are, They are.

  • Correct conjugation verb TO HAVE: I have, You have, He/she/It has, We have, You have, They have.

  • In present simple to form these 2 types of sentences we need a auxiliary verb and it is verb TO DO.

  • For negatives the verb TO DO has two forms, DON'T---> for I/YOU/WE/YOU/THET and DOESN'T ----> for HE/ SHE/ IT

  • For questions also has two forms, DO ---> for I/YOU/WE/YOU/THEY and DOES ----> for HE/SHE / IT
