OBJECTIVE
Students will identify and recognize attributes that we as a society see as desirable in individuals, such as honesty, responsability and other important values, and analyze their personal values.
2
Do you know the meaning of VALUE?

3
RESPECT
Having respect means you feel positively toward a person because of how they affect others. For example:
You may have respect for a person that treats other people kindly
Someone who worked hard to achieve something
Someone who overcame a challenge
4
Being respectful means you act in a way that shows care for how your actions may impact others. We can show respect for people, places, and things. For example:
Using kind or polite words even when you're upset
Using manners like sharing, waiting your turn, saying please and thank you
Accepting difference or at least disagreeing with kind words
Being careful not to damage places or things
Using a quiet voice or calm behavior in public places
Sharing resources, only taking what you really need
5
HONESTY
Honesty means you don't say things about people that aren't true. You are not being honest if you make up or share rumors about someone.
Being honest means you admit to your actions, even if you'll get in trouble.
Honesty means you explain how a situation really happened. You are not being honest if you say something happened one way when it really happened another way.
6
RESPONSABILITY
It means you do the things you are supposed to do and accept the results of your actions.
A responsibility: something you are expected to do
Being responsible: doing the things you are supposed to do
Accepting responsibility: taking the praise or the blame for something you have done
7
LOYALTY
Being loyal doesn’t require us to like or believe all the same things. When you’re loyal, friends feel they can trust you and that you won’t betray them – even if you disagree with them
Being loyal might mean that we have to put other people's best interests before our own; in other words we might have to sacrifice something to protect the bonds that we share with others and value so much.

COMPUTER vs. HUMAN
10
11
I AM A COMPUTER
I am a Computer. I would like to be a person just like you so that way we could talk. I say I am a Computer and I cannot be more than a Computer. I would be nothing, if it was not for the electronic engineer that created me, I cannot be something else, nor can I perfect myself by myself.
You, on the other hand, are a human being. And even though we do have in common that we were both created, the differences between you and I are abysmal.
You were created “intelligent” and “free”; able to know, to reason, to take decisions by yourself. This is your own being that you cannot change: you will always be a human being. However, because you are a person, you have infinite possibilities to perfect and/or deteriorate yourself! What I mean is that, in your hands, you have the power to decide “your own way of being” and to use them wisely, mainly at school and home.
12
You can choose between being:
Responsible or Irresponsible
Friend or Enemy
Loyal or Traitor
Strong or Weak
Sincere or Hypocrite
Generous or Egoistic
Happy or Sad

Open Ended
Where can you use the values that we learnt?
21
To Conclude:
You have chosen the universal values that belong to every human being. Conquering these values must be the reason for all of your efforts.
In sum, it is about reaching your fullest human potential. I must warn you that progressing in one of these virtues also means progressing in many others. They do not exist by themselves; they are interrelated. Some support each other. C’mon! It is worth it!
