Color

Color is what brings the whole design to life. It makes the design either be bland or pop. Color is the spirit, the message, the beauty, and the essence of the design. The color is what makes it real.

Fabrics

Now, fabrics are very important because they make the clothes, the fabric brings your ideas to life, makes them a reality. There are also so many different kinds and colors. Many people may thing being a designer is easy but the small decisions are what make it hard.

Thread

Thread holds it all together, holds your design in place. Like fabric there are so many different kinds of types and textures and colors and you have to pick the perfect one to go with your design.

Ideas

You need ideas to make a design, if you have a idea you like you need to draw it. Having a idea you like is inspiring and it is important that you draw them so that you can make them.

Sketches

Sketches are your ideas on paper. Sketches are what you base your costume designs off of. Your sketches are the most important thing in the process of making a design, it can have a idea on it and then the actual design can be either the exact same or kind of different.
