Past Simple Passive

Passive voice is used to emphasize the result of an action. 

• We use it when we don´t know or don´t want to say who did the action, Paper was invented in China (We don´t know who invented the paper).

• when we want to emphasize the importance of the object. America was discovered by Christopher Columbus. (emphasizing the importance of America being discovered).

Form:

• the past simple of be (was / were)

• and the past participle (written, made)

Examples
