ACTIVITY 1

How to use 'be going to' and verbs?

• 'be going to' memberi maksud 'akan'/'sedang bersedia untuk'.

• Example: Aina is going to go to school (Aina akan pergi ke sekolah). Hafiz and Lokman are going to eat their dinner later. (Hafiz dan Lokman akan makan makan malam mereka nanti.)

STEP 1

• For 'be' in 'be going to ...' look at the pronouns. (Untuk 'be' dalam 'be going to' lihat pada kata nama)

• If one person, use 'is'. Example, Anna is ..., Lily is ..., She is ..., He is ...

• If more than one person, use 'are'. Example: They are ..., My friends are ..., We are ..., My sisters and I are ... My parents are ...

• BUT, I (bermaksud saya) use 'am'. Example: I am ...

STEP 2

• We have done 'be' part, lets look at 'going to' in 'be going to' (Kita dah selesai bahagian 'be', jadi jom lihat pada 'going to' dalam 'be going to')

• 'going to' is used because the person is preparing/will to do the activity ('going' digunakan sebab orang itu sedang bersedia/akan buat aktiviti itu)

• jadi kita gunakan 'going to' (PRESENT TENSE)

STEP 3

• Now, for verbs, we must use root word. (Sekarang, kata kerja, kita mesti guna kata dasar.)

• Root word = verb without any '-s' at the back, no '-ing', no '-ed'. Simply, the basic. (Root word = kata kerja tanpa sebarang penambahan.)

• Example: run, walk, drink, eat, sleep, read
