Pengertian Procedure Text

Procedure text adalah sebuah jenis teks dalam Bahasa Inggris yang berisi tujuan dan langkah-langkah untuk membuat atau melakukan sesuatu yang berkaitan dengan tujuan tersebut. Fungsi dari teks ini adalah untuk menunjukkan bagaimana cara melakukan sesuatu melalui langkah-langkah yang berurutan sehingga pembaca bisa mencapai tujuannya.

Ciri-ciri Procedure Text

• Menggunakan Simple Present Tense.

• Menggunakan imperative sentence yang merupakan bentuk kalimat yang biasanya digunakan untuk memberi perintah. Contohnya don’t mix, turn on, cut into slices dan lain sebagainya.

• Menggunakan connective of sequence (then, while, next, dan lain sebagainya).

• Menggunakan numbering (first, second, third, dan lain sebagainya).

• Menggunakan action verb. Contohnya, turn, plug, put, dan lain sebagainya).

• Menggunakan adverb. Contohnya: slowly, carefully, dan lain sebagainya.

Contoh text procedure "How to Make Fluffy Pancake"

Ingredients: 5 eggs ,40 gram sugar, 60 gram purpose flour, 2 gram baking powder, Salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract ,Honey .

Instructions:

• First, separate the egg yolk and the white. Then beat the egg white until stiff.

• In a separated bowl, mix the egg yolks with sugar until the sugar melts.

• Next, add the flour, baking powder, and salt. Then stir until all the ingredients mixed.

• Slowly pour all the mixture ingredients into one bowl. Then add vanilla extract and mix it.

• Then heat a pan over a low-medium heat and coat it with butter. Use a 1/4 cup measure to scoop and drop the batter into the pan so that you get evenly-sized pancakes.

• Cook until the first side is golden brown, or until the top surface forms bubbles.

• Flip and repeat on the other side. Adjust heat accordingly.Finally, serve the pancake while it is still warm with honey. You can add some fruits like grapes or strawberry to make it more delicious.
