A subject can be a noun, or a pronoun.

Predicate
A predicate tells us 'something' about the subject. It gives us information about the subject.

A fragment occurs when a sentence is incomplete: lacking either a subject or a predicate.

Comma between Subject and Verb
One common error that students like to make is to include a comma between the subject and the verb.
My friend, is a wonderful singer. ❌

When do you add commas?
The only time when a comma is necessary between the subject and the predicate is when there is an interrupter.
