Each thought group has its own intonation pattern.

This is a very very very very important rule of English intonation    

that you need to know.

這是非常重要你需知的英文語調規則。

The final stress of a thought group is very high.

意群最後一個重音特高。

That's the tonic stress.

那是語調重音。

If we’re finished,

we go down.

如果話說完,語調下降。

But if we’re not finished, we start high, go down,

and then come up a little bit with a continuation rise.

如話還沒說完,從高音開始,下降,

然後用「句中上升語調」微微上揚。
