17

Open Ended

How might Jesus have felt about the people who didn't say thank you?

18

Why is it important to say thank you?

When we say thank you to others we are showing our appreciation for the things they have done for us. It tells people that we are grateful for their help and kindness.

Christians believe we should say thank you to God for the things he gives us as a sign of respect.

19

Activity 1:

Find a cardboard toilet or kitchen roll and decorate however you like.

Cut out a flame shape and write a prayer or sentence to share what you are thankful for.

Attach the flame to the candle and take a photo to show us on Google Classroom.

Prayer

Some Christians pray to God to say thank you or to ask for something that matters a lot to them.

They believe that God hears all prayers and sometimes answers them with yes, no or wait.

Christians believe that you should only ask God for what matters to you most; not just things you want.

What matters most?

Most Christians believe that God is the One who matters most because they wish to join him in the Kingdom of Heaven. Christians show they are thankful for God by living a good life.

Those people who aren't Christians also have things that matter a lot to them. E.g. Family, Friends, Pets.

What matters most to you?

24

Activity 2:

The parable of The Pearl with Great Price teaches us that the things that matter to us are worth everything.

Think about what matters most to you in the world and either write or draw a picture inside the oyster shell.

If you want to you can colour or decorate your shells, cut them out and pin them together.
