Presentation

  • Sometimes you need to express a relationship between people and things. So, we need to use an apostrophe (‘) and the “s” after a noun or a name to say that.

  • Note: there are some rules. For example, we need to use the ‘s after the name and before the noun to show this object belongs to someone.

(It means the coat belongs to Carla)

5

When we have a plural noun and it finishes with S, we need to add just the apostrophe (').

6

Examples:

My parents' vacations were in New York.

My parents' honeymoon was fantastic

7

But when the plural noun is irregular (no -s at the end), we have to add ('s),

8

Examples:

The children's games are very cute.

The women's clothes are very expensive

9

Finally, when we have TWO names, we only add 's to the second name

10

Examples:

That is Cristian and Jenny's laptop.

They are Martin and Alice's games.
