These group of islands are located close to the Malabar Coast of Kerela. This Island is composed of small coral Islands. It covers small area of 32 sq km . Kavaratti Island is the administrative headquaters of Lakshadweep. This group has great diversity of flora & fauna. The pitti Island which is unhibited, has a bird sanctuary.

They are elongated chain of Islands in Bay of Bengal from North to South. They are bigger in size and are more numerous and scattered The entire group of islands js divided into 2 parts - The Andaman in North And The Nicobar jn The South. It is beleived that these Islands are an elevated portion of submerine mountains . These island groups are of great strategic importants for the country. There is gerat diversity of flora and fauna in this group of islands too . These islands lie close to the equater and experiences equitorial climate and has thick forest cover .
