  • keep the equality in the inequality and find compatible values of the unknown variables (here x,y)

  • Eg: - for inequality 4x+2y \ge  8                     we consider  4x +2y = 8

  • for x = 0  \rightarrow  4(0)+2y=8 \rightarrow  2y=8 \rightarrow  y = 4

  • for y = 0 \rightarrow  4x +2(0)=8 \rightarrow  4x=8 \rightarrow  x = 2
