POSSESSIVE 1

To form the possessive of singular

or plural nouns that don’t end in "s", add + ‘s

EXAMPLES

The bike of the boy--- The boy's bike.

The mom of Carla--- Carla's mom.

The teacher of Juan--- Juan's teacher.

POSSESSIVE 2


The possessive of common plural nouns that end in "s" YOU JUST add an apostrophe ( ’ ) to the end of the word.

EXAMPLES

The socks of the teachers----- The teachers' socks.

The song of the singers ---- The singers' song.

When 2 people own the same thing. You add the apostrophe and S (') to the second person.

To show separate ownership,

each noun takes an apostrophe 's.

EXAMPLES

The pets of Sonia and Junny--- Sonia's and -Junny's pets. 2 pets OF DIFFERENT PEOPLE.

The teachers of 5A and 5B---- 5A's and 5B's teachers.
