History of Lacrosse

  • Lacrosse was invented in St. Lawrence Valley

  • Invented by the Algonquian Native Americans in the 1630s

Lacrosse Positions

  • There are 10 players on the field for each team

  • There are 3 defenders, 3 midfielders, 3 attackers, and 1 goalie

  • Only the midfielders can roam the entire field

  • The attackers and defenders must stay on their halves of the field

  • Only the goalie and defenders are allowed in the crease

  • A team must keep a minimum of 3 players on offense and a minimum of 4 players on defense (including the goalie)
