SELF- INTRODUCTION

===============================

All about myself

7

Ways to tell about yourself:

  • Formal Phrases

  • Informal Phrases

8

Formal Phrases

  • Hello.. May I introduce myself? How do you do? Pleased to meet you.

  • Well, let me introduce myself / I'd like to introduce myself

  • My name is .../ my names (full name)

  • You may call me....(nick name)

  • I was born on,,,,

  • I live in....

  • It's pleasure to meet you

9

Remember!

How do you do is not a question. It's a phrase that is used when meeting someone for the first time. The usual response is to repeat how do you do?

10

Informal Phrases

  • Hi. I'm ...

  • Hello, guys...I'm ...

  • Are you new here?

  • What's up?

  • It's great meeting you!

  • Hey! How's it going?

  • How you doing?

11

Remember!!

It's common in more informal language to leave out small grammar words in greetings. How are you doing? often changes to how you doing? which is more informal.
