Singular Nouns (sn)
A singular noun refers to one person, place, thing or idea.
For Example:
Joanna has a cat.

A plural noun refers to 2 or more people, places, things or ideas.
For Example:
Miss Francis has lots of cats.

In order to make a noun plural, you can add:
-s to the singular endings.
-es to the singular nouns ending with -s, -ss, -sh, -ch, -x, or -z.
-ies to the singular noun ending with ‑y and if the letter before the -y is a consonant.

#Rule 1: For most nouns, when you change to plural; you just added -s:

Another example: Fox ends with x. If you have more than one fox, you add -es

There are exception to #Rule 4:
If the singular nouns ending with -y, but before the -y is a vowel (a,e,i,o,u); we just have to add 's' after the ending -y.

Singular Possessive Nouns: #Rule 1
In a singular noun (person, thing, place or idea), we add the apostrophe and 's' after the noun.
for example:
Ron's car is in the garage. (the car belonging to Ron is in the garage)

In singular nouns ending with 's' followed by a word starting with 's', we just added an apostrophe to the noun. this is to avoid a hissing sound.
for example:
Tejas's school is in Penang.
Suhas's sister is a teacher.
Rohas' laptop isn't working.
We always had our families' social gathering at a beach.

Plural Possessive noun: #Rule 3
In plural nouns (ending with 's'), we add apostrophe after 's'.
for example:
Students' report cards are ready.
The girls' dance classes have been cancelled.

Irregular Plural Noun: #Rule 4
In the irregular plural noun (ex.: men, children), we add apostrophe and 's' to show possession
for example:
Children's clothes are expensive. ( children is the plural noun of child)
People's mindsets need to be changed. (people is the plural noun of person)
