​Test takers write their answers on the question paper as they listen and at the end of the test are given 10 minutes to transfer their answers to an answer sheet.

​Spelling is crucial in the IELTS Listening test. An answer must be spelled correctly for it to be correct.

​The passages of the reading test are authentic material taken from books, magazines and newspapers.

The style maybe descriptive or argumentative.

​ You must enter your answers on the Reading Answer Sheet, and be aware that no extra time is given for transferring your answers from the test booklet to the Reading Answer Sheet.
