​What is a conjugation?

​A conjugation is the change that takes place in a verb to express tense, mood, a person, etc. 

The words change depending on if you are talking about yourself, talking to a person, talking about a person, or talking about people. 

Yo= I                              ella= she                                ellas= they (women)

Tú= you (informal)           nosotros (nosotras) = we

Usted= you (formal)    

él= he                              ellos= they 

​Ar, er, and ir

​A change in the word will occur in each of these verbs ending with ar, er, and ir depending on who the person is talking about

For example, Hablar, comer and escribir

When talking about yourself you will use “o” for the “ar” verb. Ex: Yo hablo inglés. 

This is the same with the “er” and “ir” verbs. Ex: Yo como una manzana (er). Yo escribo en el examen (ir). 

When talking to someone informally, you will use “as” for the “ar” verb. Ex: Tú hablas espanol. 

With the verbs “er” and “ir” use “es” Ex:Tú comes pan (er). Tú escribes mucho (ir).

​When speaking formally to someone, or talking about someone, you will use “a” for the “ar” verb. Ex: Ella habla inglés.Él habla inglés. Usted habla inglés. 

 You will use “e” for both the “er” and “ir” verbs Ex: Él come una manzana (er). Ella escribe en un libro(ir). Usted come una manzana(er). Usted escribe en un libro (ir). 

When speaking about a group of which you are a part of,  use “amos” for the verb “ar” Ex: Nosotras hablamos en la tienda. 

Use “emos” for the verb “er”  Ex: Nosotras tenemos un gato.

Use “imos” for the verb “ir” Ex: Nosotros escribimos con bolígrafos.

When talking about a group of people, use “an” for the verb “ar”. Ex: Ellos gustan tacos. 

“Er” and “ir” verbs both use “en”. Ex: Ellas escriben en un libro.
