In a sentence...

The basic order of an English sentence is subject + verb + object + complements.

Examples: I saw a movie yesterday, Peter always goes to the church on Sundays, my sister is very bossy.

Within the object and complements of a verb, we can have several classes of words. The most common are nouns (or names) and adjectives, which add qualities to those nouns. In Spanish the adjective usually follows the noun, while in English it is the other way around: first the adjectives and then the noun.

Example: Yo compré una silla de madera

I bought a wooden chair
