Example: 764

Create and write down a 3 digit number to break down and write in words.
Example: 253 2 hundreds, 50 tens and 3 units
In words- Two hundred and fifty three

The grid shows how you can count up in tens or hundreds. So counting on in tens, starting at 40 is fifty, sixty, seventy, eighty, ninety but then we are at the top of that column, so you have to say one hundred. Still counting on in tens gives one hundred and ten, one hundred and twenty, and so on.
