Insects and bugs

​There are different type of insects and bugs.

• ​Some are big, some are small.

​

• ​Some can fly, crawl or jump.

​Insects live all around us.

• ​I will see many of them in the Nature Area at school.

• ​Insects can look a bit weird and I might get scared if they touch me or come very close to me.

​

• ​If this happens, I need to remember that insects do not want to hurt me.

• ​Many insects are good for the environment and are food for other animals.

​It's OK!

• ​Insects won't bother me if I remember to stay calm and quiet.

​I should never shout, swat, cry or kick if an insect or bug comes close by!

​What can I do instead?

• ​I can ignore the insect

• ​I can just walk away and leave the insect alone

• ​I can gently shake it off from my body if is bothering me

​If I remember these when I see an insect, my teachers and my parents will be very proud of me!
