Also known as corporal punishment, is when it hurts the body.
Children tend to be more quiet while being punished.
Children who were physically punished are more likely to be child bullies, adolescent delinquents, and abusive adults. It can start with their peers, then their significant others, then their children.

There are 53 nations including all of Nothern Europe where corporal punishment is illegal in other nations. (Berger, 206)
63% of 2 to 5 year olds are physically punished.
