​Adding Integers

​If the signs are the same, add the numbers and keep the sign of the larger (absolute value) number.

EX> -3 + (-5) = -8

2 + 2 = 4

​ If the signs are different, subtract the numbers and keep the sign of the larger (absolute value) number.

​EX> -6 + 3 = -3

​ 8+ (-5) = 3

​Subtracting Integers

To subtract integers, add the opposite.

​

​EX> -4 - 6 = -4 + (-6) =-10 (add the opposite)​

-5 - (-3) = -5 + (+3) = -2​

​ (add the opposite)

​Multiplying and Dividing Integers

​Multiply or divide, as the problem indicates. For your answer:

​Same signs = +

​Different Signs = -
