​1. So sánh hơn của tính từ ngắn

​• Công thức 

​S1 + be + short adj+er than S2

​Ex: he is taller than me

​2. So sánh hơn của tính từ dài

• Công thức 

S1 + be + more + long adj + than + S2

Ex: I am more intelligent than him

​Lưu ý:  

  * Để nhấn mạnh ý trong câu so sánh hơn, ta thêm “much” hoặc “far” trước hình thức so sánh

Ví dụ: Her boyfriend is much/ far older than her

  * Một số tính từ có hai âm tiết kết thúc bằng “et, ow, er, y” thì áp dụng như quy tắc thêm er ở tính từ ngắn

Ví dụ:   quiet àquieter  clever   à   cleverer

  Simple à simpler  narrow   à  narrower

Một số tính từ đặc biệt:  

good   à   better

bad  à  worse

far  à  farther / further

many /much  à  more

little  à   less

old  à  older / elder

​  * Cách thêm đuôi – er vào tính từ ngắn

​

1. So sánh hơn của trạng từ ngăn

• Công thức

S1 + V + short adv+er + than + S2

Ex:   He works harder than me

2. So sánh hơn của trạng từ dài

•Công thức 

S1 + V + more + long adv + than + S2

Ex:   My friend did the test more carefully than I did.

  My father talks more slowly than my mother does.

​Một vài trạng từ có dạng từ đặc biệt:

​1. So sánh nhất của tính từ và trạng từ ngắn.

​* Công thức:

​S + V + the + short adj/adv+est + in / of + N phrase

​Ex: He is the tallest in my class.

​John ran the fastest of all.

​

2. So sánh nhất của tính từ và trạng từ dài.

​* Công thức:

​S + V + the most + long adj/adv + in / of + N phrase

​Ex: He is the most intelligent in my class.

​John ran the most slowly of all.

​V. So sánh bằng của tính từ và trạng từ

​* Công thức:

​S1 + V + as + adj/adv + as + S2

​Ex: He is as tallest as his brother

​John ran as fast as I did.
