​This is when the personality of a character is revealed to us.

​The narrator TELLS us how their personality is.

​Example: Karen was rude and obnoxious.

​Her personality: Rude and obnoxious

Characterize this person based on how they speak, think, their effect on others, and their looks.

Karen glared at the cashier as he handed back her change. "I want to speak to a manager! How dare you not have green beans in stock!" She tapped her foot in frustration as the cashier fumbled for the phone to call the manager. The wrinkles on her forehead deepened as every minute passed waiting for the manager.
