Early humans made several inventions to make life somewhat easier, like stone tools, shelters, and using fire.

The Neolithic Age
After the Ice Age ended, the planet began to get warmer.
This period of time began around 8,000 B.C.E., lasted until 4,000 B.C.E.
This was the age where Humans shifted from a Hunters & Gatherer society to farming.
Humans discovered it was easier to settle in one place (typically by water) and grow their food.

The Neolithic Age
Farmers planted staple crops beginning 9,000 years ago.
In China, they grew plants such as rice.
Central America they planted corn, beans, and squash.
Africa, the people grew tubers such as yams.
Farmers domesticated plants which means they tamed or adapted the plants for personal use.

NOMADS
People who move from place to place as a group to find food for themselves.

Life in Neolithic Age
First known communities were Jericho (Israel) & Cataihuyuk (modern day Turkey)
People settled in villages
Easier to grow and harvest crops
Settling near rivers lead to an abundance of waters
Religions began to form
