PAMS ESSAY

​As a student at Port Allen Middle School, I am expected to LEAD. I am expected to Listen, Think, React, Execute my Plan, Attention to Detail and Do the Right Thing. Every day I will choose to be a leader. I will be proactive and take initiative. I will begin with the end in mind.

​I will choose my actions, attitudes, and moods. I will not blame others for my faults. I will do good things, even when no one is around. I will plan ahead and set goals. I will learn from others. I will spend time on important things. I will stay disciplined and organized. I will seek fair solutions. I will have respect for everyone. I will listen to other people's ideas and feelings. I will listen with my eyes, ears, and heart. I will try and understand things from other people's view. I will not interrupt someone whenever someone is talking. I will value other people's ideas. I will cooperate with everyone. I will learn new things each day. I will strive to keep my mind, body, heart, and soul balanced. I will practice my 7 habits in all that I do every day.

​In the gym, I practice my 7 habits by keeping my hands, feet, and all objects to myself. I also must obey all adults and show kindness to others. I act responsibly in the gym by keeping the restroom clean, throwing away all trash, and keeping the noise level to a minimum. I model teamwork in the gym by waiting with my class to be dismissed.

​During transitions, I practice respect by using polite manners and staying off of the walls. I act responsibly by going straight to my next destination and having a proper pass if needed. I model teamwork by staying to the right side of the hallway and keeping a minimum noise level and maintaining a safe distance from others. 

In the restrooms, I practice respect by obtaining permission from the teacher in an appropriate manner and giving privacy to other students​. I use toilet paper, soap, and paper towels appropriately. I keep the restroom clean. I wash my hands before leaving the restroom.

​In the cafeteria, I practice respect by using my manners and allowing ladies to go first in line. I remember that food is for eating only and picking up all trash and food. I also return my tray and utensils to the designated area and I take nothing out of the cafeteria. I model teamwork by entering and exiting in line with my class and being patient while others are served. I stay safe keeping water and soap  off the floor.

​In the classroom, I practice respect by following the teacher's instructions and answering, "Yes ma'am or no ma'am, or Yes sir, or no sir." I act responsibly by always bringing my necessary materials and trying my best. I model teamwork by being patient with others and assisting classmates when needed and given permission to do so. I will follow all classroom procedures established by the teacher.
