​Subject-Verb Agreement

​When the subject is singular, the verb must also be singular. When the subject is plural, the verb must also be plural.

​Example:

​1. This is my bag. (singular)

​ These are my bags. (plural)

​2. She has a pet parrot. (singular)

​ They have a pet parrot. (plural)

​3. Jemima is my best friend. (singular)

​ Jemima and I are best friends. (plural)

​Simple Present Tense

​Use the simple present tense when:

​(a) talking about something done regularly or habitually.

​Example: I exercise every day.

​ We usually have dinner together.

​(b) stating about general truth.

​Example: Whales are marine mammals.

​ The moon is the earth's natural satellite.

​Simple Present Tense

​- Singular form + verb + s

​He/She/It/Danial likes to eat nuts.

​

​- Plural form + basic verb form

​I/You/We/They/The boys cycle to school.

​Hi,
