​Charles Babbage invented the first mechanical computer.

It was called the Difference Engine.

This machine was able to do very big calculations and generate mathematical tables correctly up to 20 digits.

​Charles Babbage invented the first general computing device known as the Analytical Engine. This analytical engine had the same basic elements as the modern computers – input, output and process. This machine could perform the mathematical calculations faster and could also store the data.
