What comes to mind when you hear the word "culture?"

​Perception

​

Cultural perception is how an individual's culture affects the way he or she's see the world. Since culture informs all areas of life (including the arts, thought, religion, language, food, etc.), perception (how they see the world) is significantly impacted by culture.

When we perceive things it helps us understand and interpret information about different things.

Culture is​

​ learned patterns of perception, values, and behaviors, shared by a group of people, that are dynamic and heterogeneous.

When we were born, we don’t know how to be boys or girls.  But we learn how to enact those culturally sanctioned behaviors by listening to and watching the people in our lives.
