2.1 Reviewing web page design

• ​When we are designing web pages, we need to consider PURPOSE and AUDIENCE.

• Web pages are the individual pages that make up a website. ​

• ​Normally the individual pages of a website will share the same design features.

2.1 Reviewing web page design

Navigation

• ​Website navigation is the process of navigating pages, apps, and websites on the internet.

• ​Hypertext or media is text-based web pages that use hyperlinks to connect them to other pages on the internet. 

  Website navigation uses menus with internal links that make it easy for visitors to find the page that they are looking for. 

• Good navigation is an essential element of a user-friendly site.

2.1 Reviewing web page design

Clarity of information

• ​Clarity refers to whether or not the information is clear and easy to understand.

• ​This means:

  • ​how much information there is

  • ​how easy it is to find and read

  • ​whether it is the right format for the audience

  • ​whether is written in an appropriate style

2.2 Methods for creating web pages

​1. HTML( Hypertext Markup Language​)

• ​It is code that contains instructions that describe how a web page is displayed on the screen.

​2. Using standard software (Microsoft Word/ Microsoft Publisher)

3. Using specialised software ( Adobe Dreamweaver & etc)

Choosing which software to use

• ​how much the software cost

• ​how easy each method is

• ​how long do you think it will take to make a web page using each method

• ​how confident you are using the different methods.

• With HTML you have to type in everything as an instructions (HTML code)

• ​the opening & closing tags use the same command except the closing tag contains and additional forward slash /
