Before attempting the retake review and practice revising sentences. Practice the questions in this presentation until you are confident and comfortable revising. You will only be able to complete THIS retake once.

Revising Sentences

In this lesson, we will compare a mentor sentence to a revised example and identify what was added or changed, then write our own revision of the mentor sentence. You will need a piece of paper or your ELA journal and a pencil.

​What is a mentor sentence? Mentor sentences are examples of good writing. The best mentor sentences are those that clearly illustrate a grammar rule or figurative language element.

You can use mentor sentences to help you with your own writing!
