What is digestion?
Digestion is the breakdown of food substances into smaller parts.

Types of digestion
There are two types of digestion:
1. Mechanical
physical breakdown by the crushing of teeth or the churning of muscles

breakdown of chemicals in food assisted by enzymes

The importance of teeth in digestion
Teeth breaks down food mechanically into smaller pieces.
This increases the surface area available for enzymes to act
