​Poetry Terms to know!

​Alliteration- The repeating of a letter or a sound (Peter Piper Picked a Patch of Pickled Peppers).

​Figurative Language- When the author describes something without officially saying what it is.

​Metaphor- Making a comparison between things WITHOUT like or as.

​Similie- Making a comparision between things WITH like or as.

​Personification- Giving human qualities to non-human things (The sun is kind today).

​Allusion- Making a connection to another form of media (book, myths, movies, music...).
