Conjunction merupakan salah

satu bagian dari part of speech
yang

berfungsi

untuk

menghubungkan antara dua kata,
frase,

atau

kalimat

sehingga

membentuk

kalimat

yang

berkesinambungan.

Ada tiga jenis conjunction
dalam bahasa inggris yaitu:

UP TO

1.

Coordinating Conjunction,

2. Correlative Conjunction,

3. Subordinating Conjunction.

Coordinating conjunction bisa disingkat menjadi F.A.N.B.O.Y.S,
karena terdiri dari For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So.

Contoh Kalimat:
- I am always here for you
- I and My family will go on vacation next week

1. Coordinating Conjunction

Correlative Conjunction

• Di dalam sebuah kalimat ada dua conjunction di dalamnya yang menyambungkan

kata dengan kata, kalimat dengan kalimat, dan klausa dengan klausa. Jenis dari
correlative conjunction adalah:

Example :
- not only............ but also.................
- neither.............. nor.........................
- both................. and.........................
- either............... or............................
- as.................... as............................
- the more......... the more.................
- whether.......... or (not)....................
- dan lain lain.

✓ The trip is not only for the students but also the teachers.
✓ Both of mother and her baby are treated in the hospital

3. Subordinating Conjunction

Dalam satu kalimat ada dua kalimat yang merupakan induk

kalimat

dan

anak

kalimat.

Subordinate Conjunction bisa disingkat

menjadi

termasuk While, Whether, Where, Before, After, Then, As, Since, Because,

Although, How, dan Until.

Contoh kalimat:
❖ I was watching TV, while my mother is cooking in the kitchen (aku sedang

menonton TV, sementara ibuku sedang memasak)

❖ I went to the supermarket, then the salon
