(7 x 2,206) - 2,206 = m
(7 x 2,206) + 2,206 = m

Multiplying by powers of ten
Remember... when you multiply a decimal by a whole number such as 10, 100, 1000, 10000, etc you always move the decimal to the RIGHT based on the number of 0's. So if we had 0.23 x 100 it would 23 because we moved the decimal to the RIGHT twice because 100 has two 0's.

Multiply decimals by decimals
Remember... you can multiply decimals in two different ways, traditional or box method (partial products). What's important to remember is how many times you move the decimal. When you multiply a decimal by a decimal like 1.23 x 4.6 ignore the decimals first when multiplying, just do it as if it were 123x46. When you get the answer, look back at how many numbers TOTAL come after the decimal in each number. In this case, we have two numbers after the decimal in 1.23 and one number after the decimal in 4.6. This is a total of 3 numbers after the decimal so we move the decimal on answer in LEFT 3 times. When multiplying a decimal by a decimal you move from the right to the left.
