​Describe Microsoft Accounts

Windows 10 environment has 3 types of accounts

  • Local account - settings applied affect only the user's device

  • Domain account - used by businesses, created on a Windows server domain controller using Active Directory

  • Microsoft Account - you can sync settings and Store apps across multiple synced devices

Sync Your Settings - once signed into a Microsoft account users can sync:

  • ​Themes, language preferences, Ease of access, and other Windows settings

​Active Directory - a system that centrally manages users, groups, devices and all their permissions and settings

​Configure the Control Panel

The control panel is the central location for computer settings. It can be viewed by:

  • ​Category

  • ​Large icons

  • ​Small icons

There are many settings including​ ​security, ​internet accounts, ​programs and more.

Administrative Tools - has may management pieces, including Computer Management

​Power Options - important for mobile devices to control battery life
